8 week class
Level 3 is our introduction to improv for performance. These classes are more in-depth and are designed for students who wish to perform in one of our shows for the public.
At the heart of improv is a simple act, sharing. The level 3 class is where we investigate this act. We break down the "yes, and" into two-person scenes, with role playing together as the goal. Keeping each other on the same page and creating a world that is shared and accessible is key.
Students will learn the concepts of organic vs premise, scene beats, and the 3 act story. With a focus on the fundamentals of grounded scene work, the class will culminate in learning the monoscene format. From 2 person scenes to large group scenes, this class will give students confidence in approaching theatrical role playing.
